PLAYWRIGHTS AT THE PLAZA is an open weekly workshop for playwrights and actors, beginner or experienced, to develop new plays for production with Insurgo Theater.

Playwrights will workshop their plays every Saturday, from 1pm to 5pm.

All workshops will be held at The Insurgo Theater, located in The Plaza Hotel and Casino. 

Actors, if not brought in by playwrights, will be chosen at the beginning of the workshop to read for the writers.

PLAYWRIGHTS AT THE PLAZA offers playwrights an opportunity to refine their scripts, as well develop new plays from scratch, with the intention of having your play produced by Insurgo Theater. Insurgo Theater encourages a collaborative effort through suggested writing exercises, mandatory deadlines, and abrasively breaking down scripts through constructive discussions. Insurgo' history of original scripts transferred to full productions includes RAMBIS and WARMOUTH by Ernie Curcio, THE SEX COMEDIES, THE SUPERHERO DIARIES I and II and others.

Insurgo Theater Movement is Best of the City 2011 from Desert Companion, Best of the City 2010 from Seven Magazine, Best of Las Vegas 2009 from Las Vegas Review Journal, and Best of the Valley 2008 from City Life. 

There is not a fee to participate. We reserve the right to refuse any participant.
